I love the simplistic tones of this shot.
Thank you. This is one of those “blown” shots that I like more than the effect I’d intended. I used a very narrow depth-of-field (dof) but I missed the focal point on the man. So now, everything is slightly blurry, except the foreground, and a bit overexposed. I think it works here though, as it makes him sort of iconic, instead of some stranger at the memorial.
That’s a good point about the man seeming more iconic than just some random visitor. However, that’s clever photography in my book, if you can engage the viewer in a visual narrative. You’d make a good cinematographer.
Thank you. I used to shudder at the idea, but now, I’d love to try it.
